What is Chatmend?
Chatmend is a messenger with a quiet AI language coach built in. You chat normally with the person you already text, and Chatmend gently corrects your writing and — when you want it — explains why, so you improve through real conversation instead of drills.
Do I need someone to practise with?
Yes. Chatmend works best with a real chat partner — invite the person you want to practise with, and you both get the coaching in your shared chats. You can practise in one-on-one chats and in group chats.
Is it free?
The core experience — chatting and the inline, three-state correction — is free forever. Paid plans (Duo and Circle) unlock the deeper “teach me why” explanations, full progress analytics, and practice tools. See the pricing section for what each plan includes.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed and managed by the app store you bought them from:
iPhone / iPad: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Chatmend, and cancel or change your plan there.
Android: open the Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions, choose Chatmend, and manage it there.
Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
I got a new phone / my purchase is missing
Sign in with the same account and use Restore purchases in the app’s settings. Your subscription follows your store account, so restoring re-links it to your Chatmend account on the new device.
If it still doesn’t appear, email hello@chatmend.app with the store receipt and we’ll sort it out.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account, or request it by email. Full details are on the account deletion page.
How is my data handled?
Your messages are protected in transit and at rest, and we only use them to power the coaching. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Something isn’t working — how do I report a bug?
Email hello@chatmend.app with a short description of what happened, your device and app version, and a screenshot if you can. The app version is shown at the bottom of the app’s settings screen.
